About the Friends
With the increasing costs of repairing and maintaining our historic churches many parishes are setting up a Friends’ Scheme. Such a scheme enables a wide group of people from all over the world to help to share the burden of ensuring that the parish church building is in a state to hand on to the next generation. Many people have a great deal of good will towards their church building, especially in rural areas. Although they may not wish to contribute to the religious aspects of the church, they may be willing to support part of their heritage.
Our Aims

To promote a wide interest in the care and preservation of our church, its history and its work and to provide a focus of support for it.

To raise additional funds for the maintenance of its fabric, interior decorations and furnishings in support of St Mary's P.C.C.

The PCC will continue to be responsible for the day to day running of the church. The Friends shall not undertake permanent trading activities in raising funds.

To invite, promote and receive donations and contributions in pursuit of these aims and in time to seek Charity Status.
